Grand Prize winner of the 2013 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, the Omer Quartet was formed in 2009 and completed its studies as the Apprentice String Quartet at the Cleveland Institute of Music. 

Named Quartet in Residence of the Cleveland Chamber music Society, the quartet also performed in concert series such as of the Fontana Chamber Arts Series and the Palm Beach Atlantic University guest artist series; most recently, as the fellowship ensemble of the La Jolla Music Society’s SummerFest, the ensemble has collaborated with Cho-Liang Lin and the Assad Brothers. Since its inception, the quartet has worked closely with the Cavani Quartet, Peter Salaff, Earl Carlyss, Mark Sternberg and Donald Weilerstein.

Winner of the Grand Prize of the 2013 ASIA-PACIFIC competition, the Amber Quartet thus became the first Chinese quartet to win an international chamber music competition.  

Formed in 2005 at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, the quartet studied with professors Chen Yun and Yu Bing and have soon established itself as the leading young ensemble of its generation in China. 

As the first chamber music group with Chinese government funding for their overseas studies, the quartet is currently enrolled at the Queen Sofia’s Superior School of Music of Madrid under the tutelage of professor Günter Pichler.  Their outstanding performance abilities has led conductor Lorin Maazel to describe them as a “remarkable ensemble”.

Winner of the1st prize, Haydn prize and Beethoven prize at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in London, the Van Kuijk Quartet was also awarded the very first MISQA Prize of this prestigious competition. 

Former in 2012, the quartet was rewarded early on with the first prize at the 2013 Trondheim International competition. After early studies with the Ysaÿe Quartet, the Van Kuijk went on to study at the Queen Sofia’s Superior School of Music in Madrid under the tutelage of Günter Pichler. 

An established presence in major international venues, the quartet has also worked with Gerhard Schulz, Michael Tree, André Roy, Heime Müller and with members of the Vogler Quartet.

Winner of the Second Prize at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in London, the Verona Quartet has won many prizes in 2014 including the Grand Prizes at the Coleman Competition and the Chesapeake Competition as well as the Bronze Medal at the Osaka International Competition. 

In 2015, they have launched a chamber music residency in Singapore with the support of Indiana University, the Singapore National Arts Council and the Singapore School of the Arts. 

Mentored by the Pacifica Quartet, Alexander Kerr, Atar Arad and Eric Kim, the Verona Quartet has recently been named the Juilliard School's Graduate Resident String Quartet.

JEANNE MANCE

Formed in 2015 at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, the Jeanne Mance Quartet is working under the tutelage of professor André J. Roy. 

In addition to performing at University events, its members have been participants in previous editions of MISQA, the International Musicians Seminar in Prussia Cove, the Toronto Music Festival, the Montreal Chamber Music Festival, the Lakeshore Chamber Music Society and participated in the London International String Quartet competition. Devoted to chamber music dissemination, its members are involved in the Montreal community and engage in outreach opportunities and community events.

Formed in 2012, the Julius Quartet has held the Honors String Quartet residency at the Boston Conservatory. 

The quartet has performed at the Rockport Music, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Massachusetts State House and at the Music from Salem festival. The ensemble has primarily work under the tutelage of Rhonda Rider and Mark Steinberg. Other mentors and influences include Leonard Matczynski, Lila Brown, Kikuei Ikeda, Joel Krosnick, Judith Gordon, Markus Placci and Judith Eissenberg. 

Beginning this fall, the Julius Quartet will be the Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University.

TCHALIK

Founded in 2011, the Tchalik Quartet has performed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen as well as the Polytechnic Institute of St. Petersburg and the Kuskovo Palace of Moscow. 

The quartet has studied under the tutelage of Yovan Markovich, Vladimir Bukac and Macha Yanouchevsky and participated in the master classes of Guy Danel, Vaclav Remes and Josef Kluson. 

In 2014, the quartet was a scholarship recipient of the French-Czech Academy in Telč and of the Summer Academy at the University of Vienna, working with Hatto Beyerle and Johannes Meissl.
