VERA STRING QUARTET (Spain/USA) – Winners of the Grand Prize at recent Plowman and Yellow Springs chamber music competitions, as well as awards from the M-Prize and Wigmore Hall competitions, the Vera Quartet was recently named String Quartet in Residence at the Curtis Institute of Music.
Formed in 2015, the quartet has worked with the Pacifica Quartet as the Graduate Quartet in Residence at the Jacobs School of Music and, in April 2017, was selected as Young Artist in Residence at NPR’s Performance Today.
The quartet has also been coached by members of the Juilliard, Cleveland, Brentano, Tokyo quartets, as well as Atar Arad, Mauricio Fuks, and Peter Stumpf.
The quartet has also received guidance from such artists as Rainer Schmidt, the Vogler Quartet, Bernard Greenhouse and Günter Pichler.
TCHALIK STRING QUARTET (France) – First Prize winner of the 2018 Salzburg Mozart Competition, the Tchalik Quartet was also awarded the Special Prize for the best performance of a Mozart quartet.
Laureate of the 2017 Fondazione Monte Dei Paschi Prize in Siena, as well as the Safran Foundation for Music in France, the quartet has performed in festivals in France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Russia.
Founded in 2011, the quartet has studied under the guidance of professors Jan Talich, Vladimír Bukač, Yovan Markovitch and Heime Müller. In 2016, the Tchalik Quartet has joined the School of Music of Queen Sofia of Madrid under the tutelage of professor Günter Pichler.
