Gordon Bloom

Biography

Director of the Sports Psychology Research Laboratory at McGill University, Dr. Gordon Bloom has worked with the world’s leading coaches and athletes as both researcher and sport psychology practitioner for over 20 years. His research program addresses strategies employed by both elite and youth sport coaches in terms of knowledge acquisition, coaching style and behaviours, team building techniques, communication, and leadership styles.
From an applied perspective, Dr. Bloom has consulted Olympic, professional, and amateur athletes from many different sports, including those who have won Gold Medals at the Olympics and World Championships.
Dr. Bloom has also worked with musicians, dancers and actors and is developing a unique expertise to help them apply theoretical and practical aspects of sport psychology to enhance various factors affecting performances and artistic goals.
