Harald Schoneweg

Biography

Harald Schoneweg studied violin at the conservatories of Cologne and Düsseldorf under the tutelage of Igor Ozim, Nathan Milstein and Sandor Vegh. From 1980-1994, he was a violinist in the celebrated Cherubini Quartet with whom he toured worldwide, giving over two thousand concerts and participating in many celebrated recordings. During the same period, he was an exclusive artist of EMI –ELECTROLA and served as a violist in the Linos Ensemble.
In 1987, he founded and acted as artistic director of the “Festival di Pentecost “, a chamber music festival set in the historic abbey of Passignano in the province of Florence, Italy.
Currently active as a member of the Goldberg Trio, Mr. Schoneweg also serves as professor of chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne and as such has formed numerous young ensembles that have received international recognition.
