Born in 1947 in Riga, Ruben Aharonian studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Professor Yuri Yankelevich, and after graduating continued his studies with Professor Leonid Kogan. He has won several prizes at international competitions, including the Enescu Competition in Bucharest, the Montreal Competition and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He joined the Borodin Quartet in 1996, having enjoyed a highly successful career as a soloist and conductor.
Born in Moscow, Sergei Lomovsky studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Professors Nadezhda Beshkina and Sergey Kravchenko. As a string trio member, he won the Grand Prix at the “Riviera del Conero” Competition in Ancona. A sought after chamber musician, Mr. Lomovsky has actively participated in chamber music festivals throughout Europe and Russia. He has been a member of the Moscow Soloists orchestra and joined the Borodin Quartet in 2011.
