Formed in 2009 at the Schulich School of Music by Professor André J. Roy, the Duchow String Quartet has quickly establishing itself as one of the most exciting string quartets in Canada. Invited to perform at the Lakeshore Chamber Music Society and the St. James United Church Music Series, the quartet has participated in the first edition of McGill International String Quartet Academy (MISQA) where they have worked with Gerhard Schulz, Philip de Groote, Volker Jacobsen and Peter Schumayer. Devoted to chamber music outreach and involved in the Montreal community, the quartet has performed on benefit concerts for many organizations. The quartet takes its name from the Canadian composer Marvin Duchow.
