Founded in 2010 at Boston’s New England Conservatory, the Futura String Quartet was recognized early on as a very promising, unique young ensemble. Their first performance at Boston’s prestigious Jordan Hall was met with great enthusiasm by the audience and critics who noted the “musicians affinity for each other’s instrumental style and a deep unanimity regarding musical approach”. The summer of 2011 will see the quartet performing at the Banff, Kneisel Hall,Taos and Verbier Festivals as well as at the 2nd edition of the McGill International String Quartet Academy. The Futura Quartet is currently studying with Mai Motobuchi of the Borromeo Quartet.
