Biography

Founded in April 2019 at the University of Music and Theatre Munich, the HANA Quartet takes its name from the word meaning “flower” in Japanese and “unity” in Korean, reflecting its members’ origins. The quartet studies with Raphaël Merlin and Heime Müller and are mentored by Eberhard Feltz. Prizewinners at international competitions, they earned 2nd prize at the 2023 Geneva Competition, 3rd at the 2023 Carl Nielsen Competition, and a special prize at the 2022 ARD Competition.

They’ve performed with artists like Itamar Golan and in venues such as Victoria Hall Geneva and Konzerthaus Berlin and is Supported by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now and CRF Fiesole.
