Formed in 2011, the Van Kuijk Quartet studies at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris under the tutelage of the Ysaÿe quartet. In 2012, they took part in the ProQuartet Academy in Paris under the guidance Günter Pichler. Other significant teachers and mentors are Reiko Kitahama and Luigi Vecchioni.
The quartet recently received the Académie des Beaux-Arts scholarship and the ProQuartet-CEMC special prize at the FNAPEC competition. The quartet has appeared on several radio and television shows in France and has played in many festivals with artists such as Dana Ciocarlie, pianist and singer Angelika Kirchschlager.
The Van Kuijk Quartet is an official selection of the 7th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition (September 24-29, 2013).
