Formed in 2003 at the Conservatory in Bratislava, the Mucha Quartet won the 2nd prize and the Audience Prize at the 2014 Premio Borciani Competition and 3rd prize at the 2012 Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award.
The group has studied under the tutelage of Stanislav Mucha and Ján Slávik at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and Johannes Meissl at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
Other teachers includes Peter Schuhmayer, Othmar Müller, Hatto Beyerle, Evgenia Epshtein, Jan Talich, Petr Prause, Josef Klusoň, András Keller and Günter Pichler.
The quartet will soon undertake an extensive tour of Slovakia.
